Our wonderful next door neighbors, Wendy and Jason, gave Carson the most fantastic surprise - a big boy, two wheel bike! It lasted through both their kids, and is still in perfect shape. It even still has the training wheels.
Carson has ridden it nearly every day "around the block" (there are two sidewalks on one side of the house and this is his block). He's steadily gotten faster and faster. He also knows how to put on the brakes, thank goodness. This is also the best thing we have to hang over his head right now as the big threat: "If you don't behave right now, you don't get to ride your bike today!" He's only lost it once so far.
Yesterday we got him a helmet. It's black with flames. There were several to choose from, and he immediately went to it. He thinks it's quite cool. We also grew our "around the block" today. Together we went up and down both sides of our side street. Fun as this is for him, or course this now means Mommy or Daddy get more exercise.
