I'm going to try to hit a few more high spots from last year.
Steve and I went to Hawaii at the end of June! Great trip, except for the fire that we thought was going to burn up the place we stayed at, and caused us to be evacuated for a night. This is from a fabulous hike we took.
Mom and Dad have a timeshare in Midway in July. This year Jason and Erik both came. It was so much fun. All the boys went on a fierce mountain bike ride, and poor Jason was injured. Erik was bleeding all over. They both survived. We also took a bobsled ride at Olympic Park which was SO MUCH FUN!
October was our usual trip to Sanibel Island, and Jason and his girlfriend Shannon came also. We ALWAYS love the beach! This year we took Carson kayaking for the first time, and biking. I think he could take it or leave it. We flew Southwest this year, and on the way home the pilot let Carson sit in his seat!! I think I was as thrilled as he was.
October was the trip home to Alabama for me and Carson. After 46 years, I have finally figured out that July is not the most fabulous time to go home South. And perhaps next time I can remember to take my camera so I'll have some pictures!
For Halloween, Carson was a Pterodactyl, or Pteranadon. Sophie and Theo came to trick or treat with us. Sophie is a master poser!
Thanksgiving was once again spent with out friends the Peppers. They and their extended family are all great. Carson and Max were jumping over the brick stairs when Carson misjudged and scraped his back down them. Two months later you can still see the spots. Back in July we were in Park City and he spent a solid hour flying down a blow up slide, and it took of the skin at the base of his spine just like a carpet burn - a perfect square. You can see it in the picture of him and Erik in the pool.
Carson again shared his birthday with Max. We headed down to Jungle Jim's Playground. Tons of rides and games. And tons of fun.
The next weekend we were off to San Diego to see Utah and Navy in the Poinsietta Bowl. This was also our first time to see our new nephew, Thomas. He was about a month old, and so precious. And he looks exactly like Zach did when he was a baby! Can't wait to see if they continue to look alike. Oh, at the ball game Darth Vader, Superman, and Wonder Woman stopped to see us in the parking lot. We spent time on the beach too. It was a gorgeous day! I had on long sleeves and almost needed a jacket. Mr "I've Got the Heat of the City on My Side" ran around with his pants rolled up and pretty wet.
Christmas was spent at our house. It was really fun being home on Christmas morning for Carson to come see what Santa Claus had brought. We did of course miss seeing all our families though.
The Strohmeyer and Labys families came over on Christmas day for dinner. It was so much fun to have them all here. Jolie's mom was in town, so we got to see her too.
We headed to Chicago the weekend after Christmas. One of the highlights was Erik's (temporary) gift to Steve.
The Strohmeyers stayed at our house because they have deserted us to run away to Alaska, and their house was packed up. :-( I miss my friend...
So that wraps up 2007!
