Football Debacle

Labor Day weekend we were in Chicago for the ?th (how long has this been going on) Annual Fantasy Football draft. Steve had four tickets to the ND-South Florida game, so Steve, Carson, Erik, Jason, Vinnie and I headed to South Bend. Day started at 6:15 am, which should have been a bad omen in itself. Got to South Bend, clear blue skies, scorching hot. Felt like I was back in the South. Parked in a big field with a bunch of other folks. Steve roughly counted the cars, and figured they made about a kazillion dollars just off parking. Sometime in the first half, the clouds started rolling in, and we saw a bit of lightning. I was really looking forward to the halftime show, but the band was ordered off the field and out of the stadium because of looming severe weather. Next thing we know, everyone is ordered out of the stadium. Lots of rain, big kabooms, we go home. That combined with the DREADFUL play of the first half added up to a somewhat disappointing day. It was still fun to go and tailgate and see everything. Oh and Carson got a nice cammo ND hat. Glad he's got some inbred Southern in him. Oops, and one more thing. See the ginormous praying mantis? It was flitting from person to person, and right after I took this picture it started crawling up that guy's face.
