We got back from New Mexico Monday night, and the next day, December 12, was Carson's 4th birthday! We took Nemo Fruit Snacks to school for a special treat, and that night we had cupcakes and opened presents. He got Cars stuff from us: the Cars dvd, Cars bedding, and a pre rusty Mater! Grandma and Grandpa sent him a snowman kit (buttons, carrot for nose, pipe, hat, scarf - took us a bit to figure that one out) and a Curious George video. Mimi sent him a personalized Birthday Book. He was very excited about everything.
Saturday was the big birthday bash. Carson and his friend Max share the exact same birthday, so we decided to have a co-birthday party at Gymboree. We invited all their classmates at preschool and ended up with about ten kids. It was great fun. Carson had a football cake, and Max had a Superman cake. I got mine from Smith's and they were very accomodating about the peanut/tree nut allergy. At least I hope they really were and we weren't just lucky!
He passed out on the way home, and woke up with a totally stopped up head. So far, it just seems to be a little cold, and nothing worse. However he's top notch at saying "I'm sick... I think I need some medicine." Since I figure a little Motrin won't kill anyone, I've given it to him a few times. Probably helps him sleep better. And he's so sweet and giving, that he graciously gave his cold to Stevo. Of course Steve doesn't have the constitution that I was blessed with, so he gets sick so easy. I've considered walking around with one of those masks on. We head out Saturday, and with my luck the cold will lay me out on Friday. Mama's got it even worse now - probably a sinus infection - so she's only got a few days to get it out of her too.
